Look for the similarities to this Baur 3 Series Top Cabriolet, on which it is based:

Conversion Kits for Baur Topcabriolets which were actually designed for the BMW 3-series, formed the basis for these two convertible models. The advantage of this variant was that so important a crossbar for the stabilization of the roof could be obtained. Therefore, the body stiffness after reconstruction fell from much higher than could be the case with the full convertible versions. In addition, the Baur-mechanical components used were already established and thus accounted for development costs. However, everything had to be specially adapted to the BMW 6 Series. In Switzerland at least one such vehicle was manufactured by or for the company Emil Frey in Safenwil. The conversion looks professional, only the B-pillar seems pretty solid. |
