We are pleased to welcome a new Baur owner to the fold: mas05, who introduced himself to us in the E30 bimmerforums as the new owner of this Baur, which could turn out to be a most interesting Baur, indeed. Scroll down to find out why!:
As it turns out, we know this Baur. sort of. We did a post about it here in Baurspotting when it was for sale a few months ago. We were unable to determine much info about it, unfortunately, and we did not have the Baur plate number for it
Well, it turns out that there may be a reason for that: it doesn't HAVE one!
Whoa!
It IS, however, a US Spec E30. Whoa again! There were only 7 US Spec Baurs imported to the US by BMW! Could this be one of the 7?
.....but there is more!
According to our build sheet specialist, The Pooleman, this car does not have the Code 829 indicating prep work for a Baur Conversion! And now Baur Guru Jeroen J. of The Netherlands informs us that he can find no Baur production info for this VIN!
This is getting 'curiouser and curiouser"!
What have we here?
Could this car be another example of a Top Cabriolet conversion that was NOT done by Baur, but rather by someone else (e.g. American Sunroof Company) under license to Baur?

Welcome mas05!
Stay tuned! Baurspotting is ON THE CASE! :)
