1982 BMW 323i Baur

1982 BMW 323i Baur
Memorial Day 2010 First Drive 1982 323i BMW Baur Lapisblau M20 5 speed #4154 of 4595 made. The car was imported to California by Dietel Enterprises. I have since changed the wheels, installed the clear turn signal lenses, and I am in the process of installing a new cabriolet roof. I have to do something about those bumpers, too. :) I love this car! To see one of the reasons why, check my post "Score One For the Good Guys" on 6/26/2011.

Markus Vogel 2002ti Baur Targa Guatemala

Also Check out Part II:  http://baurspotting.blogspot.com/2013/12/part-ii-markus-vogel-2002ti-cabrio.html

Found on Facebook tonight while out Christmas shopping with SWMBO!   ;). She did the shopping, while I did the blogging!   Works for me!  ;)

We are interested in learning more about this car.  Baur did not start building the Cabrio Targa until about 1971;  if I understand the notes below, this car is a 1969.  So it appears to be a custom conversion that resembles the "Baur' look but..... it does not have a removable "Targa" roof.   This is not without precedent, btw.  Scroll down the page to see a pic of Hermann Wenzelburger's Baur 'landaulette with a sunroof. Wenzelburger was the co-designer of the Baur, and that was his personal company car.

Note the convertible rear top, and the sunroof.
