1982 BMW 323i Baur

1982 BMW 323i Baur
Memorial Day 2010 First Drive 1982 323i BMW Baur Lapisblau M20 5 speed #4154 of 4595 made. The car was imported to California by Dietel Enterprises. I have since changed the wheels, installed the clear turn signal lenses, and I am in the process of installing a new cabriolet roof. I have to do something about those bumpers, too. :) I love this car! To see one of the reasons why, check my post "Score One For the Good Guys" on 6/26/2011.

Two Baurs in New York

Lawrence Charlemagne's 1979 323i Baur (silver) and tomscat1's 1982 323i. Lawrence now has an E30 m20 engine in his Baur. Happy Birthday, Lawrence!

BTW, we are both demonstrating one of the unique characteristics of the Baur:  the pleasures of open top driving can be diminished if the result is that the driver is baking in the hot August sun.  On our trip to Bimmerfest, we discovered the advantage of the hardtop-on option.  Cabriolet roof open, allowing tremendous air flow, hard top on, protecting us from the baking heat of the sun, especially in the middle of the day!!!    Traditional convertibles do NOT have this option.  Brian and I drove the entire 350 + miles home today like this... it was GREAT!

Baurs Rock!  Baur Power!!
