1982 BMW 323i Baur

1982 BMW 323i Baur
Memorial Day 2010 First Drive 1982 323i BMW Baur Lapisblau M20 5 speed #4154 of 4595 made. The car was imported to California by Dietel Enterprises. I have since changed the wheels, installed the clear turn signal lenses, and I am in the process of installing a new cabriolet roof. I have to do something about those bumpers, too. :) I love this car! To see one of the reasons why, check my post "Score One For the Good Guys" on 6/26/2011.

BMW 2002 Baur Convertible - Car Project, Hobby, To Do Up, Restoration

RESTORATION PROJECT: BMW 2002 Baur Convertable
"This is a rare opportunity to acquire a real piece of BMW history. There were 861,940 “02’s” built of which 2517 were convertibles. To make this car even more scarce – only 354 of these cars were the right hand drive (RHD) version.
This car has undergone a good deal of first stage renovation. There is a new front valance and it did have new paint some years ago. There appears to be a little rust but nothing more than surface coverage in places.
All the parts are present to put it back together including a number of surplus parts that have come from a donor car. The trim is nearly all complete.  It also looks as if the bottom end of the engine has also received a re-build at some point in past years.
The car was manufactured on 7th February 1973 and was then exported to BMW London Ltd on the 2nd March 1973. The car is still in its original colour (possibly the best colour) of Polaris Silver (paint code 60).
The car also has upgraded alloy wheels from original. The spare parts include a set of twin headlights for conversion. This is a straight original car and a great base to create a well restored rare appreciating classic car.
Inspections welcome - please ask all questions before bidding.
Tel: 07864 288607 or 07976 570254.
Car is stored at TF9 (near Market Drayton, Shropshire).
On winning bid, 10% deposit is due via Paypal with the remaining amount to be paid by Paypal or cash on collection.  You will need a trailer to collect - it does not come with the trailer.  Please collect within seven days of winning.  No time wasters or PX please."
