1982 BMW 323i Baur

1982 BMW 323i Baur
Memorial Day 2010 First Drive 1982 323i BMW Baur Lapisblau M20 5 speed #4154 of 4595 made. The car was imported to California by Dietel Enterprises. I have since changed the wheels, installed the clear turn signal lenses, and I am in the process of installing a new cabriolet roof. I have to do something about those bumpers, too. :) I love this car! To see one of the reasons why, check my post "Score One For the Good Guys" on 6/26/2011.

Markus Vogel of Guatemala: Baurspotter of the Week!

Time to give a shout out to our friend Markus Vogel of Guatemala!  He came all the way from Guatemala to attend the SoCal Vintage on October 31!  Wow!  Kudos, Markus!

Now you may be aware that we already did a post on the Baurs at the Socal Vintage 2015 last week*, right?

And, ........ although we had several veteran Baurspotters on the ground.... everybody missed one Baur!

Except for "Eagle-eye' Markus Vogel!

Markus was the only person to spot this Baur in the SoCal show!

So, how could this happen?  Well, in all fairness, a lot of people don't know that the BMW 700 Convertible was built by Baur!

(Baurspotting, incidentally, is very grateful for all the Baurspotters out there:  I couldn't do this blog without your help!  Thank you all!)

So, congratulations and thank you to Markus Vogel:   "Baurspotter of the Week"!  Well done!  ;)

That 700 Baur is for sale again, btw!  It was sold a couple of months ago, but apparently the sale fell through, so it is back on ebay again!  Here is a post we did last September about it:

And now we see it is back on the market:

But, the fun doesn't end there, folks! Check out this pic:

This is a pic of our friend Otwoprincess Lisa at the SoCal Vintage on October 31, 2015, which she posted in Facebook.  And look who is caught on camera in the background:  Markus Vogel, all the way from Guatemala!    What are the chances of that?  !!  :)

Small Baur Friends World!    ;)

Welcome to California, Markus, and Kudos for making that trip!

And thank you for spotting that 700 Baur Convertible, Hawkeye!  ;)

*We did a post last week on the Baurs at the SoCal Vintage, but we did not know about this beautiful little 700 Baur Convertible.
