Thanks to our friend, Bob Kauffman, for the link to this beautiful Cabrio by Baur just getting ready to expire on Bring A Trailer! Well, as it turns out.... you guessed it: it is a Small Baur World, once again! We know this Baur! It belongs to our friend, Mark92131 in California. He has a blog dedicated to this car.... but I can't seem to find the link! Anyway, auction ends in about a day or so, so let's have a look! ;)
"This 1971 BMW 1600 is one of 1,682 Baur-converted Cabriolet models and is finished in correct Polaris Silver over a black vinyl interior. The seller purchased the car in 2003 from Manders Autogas, a classic car dealer in the Netherlands, and import
ed it to the US. A modified 2.0-liter M10 inline-four was installed shortly thereafter and is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. At the time of the engine swap, the seller also rebuilt the suspension with ST springs, Bilstein shocks, new bushings, new sway bars, and more as outlined below. The most recent service included adjusting the valves and carburetor, as well as installing new spark plugs. This 1600 Cabriolet is now offered with receipts and a clean California title in the seller’s name."
