1982 BMW 323i Baur

1982 BMW 323i Baur
Memorial Day 2010 First Drive 1982 323i BMW Baur Lapisblau M20 5 speed #4154 of 4595 made. The car was imported to California by Dietel Enterprises. I have since changed the wheels, installed the clear turn signal lenses, and I am in the process of installing a new cabriolet roof. I have to do something about those bumpers, too. :) I love this car! To see one of the reasons why, check my post "Score One For the Good Guys" on 6/26/2011.

1969 BMW 1602 Cabriolet Original Factory Convertible super rare vehicle.
This is a original factory convertible which were never sold in US they were all imported.
The odometer is still in Kilometers so the car has 138K kilometers.
This car is a great example and great project car, Keep in mind that this is a 46 year old car and need a full restoration to make it a perfect vintage example, they only go up in value.
I bought this vehicle 23 years ago and drove the car for 6 months before storing it to do a full restoration and when I was driving the car it had no problems what so ever, so the car has been siting for about 22 years. My plans have changed so I am selling few of my collectable cars and this is one of them.
The engine starts and runs very nice and smooth.
The car has a matching engine with VIN which is very to find on a car this old.
The car is all one piece all the parts are there. There is no missing parts to it.
Body on the car is very straight and the structure is very solid, all the shock towers in front and rear are very solid with no rust, no rust around the turn signal area, no rust in spare tire area or around the gas tank. Few years ago when I was out of town my employees put a tarp under the car cover to prevent water getting in because of the tarp the heat and moister penetrated so the paint on the hood and trunk is cracking and the hood paint is cracking and peeling.
The only rust on the vehicle is the rocker panel on driver side on bottom of the front fender but on the right side is more then the left so both rocker panels need to be repaired before the paint, in the trunk area above the spare tire and gas tank the tray area has surface rust no holes thru, left rear floor behind the driver seat has been repaired previously before I purchased the vehicle.
The car was white at one point but whoever did the paint ( before I purchase the car) they did paint all the engine bay area, door jams and trunk also.
Right door glass was replaced with plexi glass that has been faded thru the years.
All the interior pieces are there no missing parts but it does need to be redone front seats have tear in them rear seat is ok, front door panels are in good shape but the rear door panels are not.
Dash has cracks.
It is an original dash so it does have the lock for glove box and the car has short center council with interior light on the center council.
Convertible top does not have any tears in it but it does have straps inside they will need to be redone, that is the reason the top is sagging, also the rear window is bad.
I have described the car the best as possible so if you have any questions please ask before bidding not after the auction ends.
I can also restore the car for the high bidder if they choose to, I have an exclusive BMW repair shop and been restoring BMW for over 30 years.
I do have a perfect good used upper and lower piece of the dash but I can not find the instrument cluster are cover, the one on the car ( instrument cluster ) is not cracked it could be used, I also have original all chrome no black line left, right and center grilles, I do have left and right complete rear lights.  This are not included in the auction the high bidder has the first right to buy this if they want.
You can inspect the vehicle only by appointment and at least 24 hours before the auction ends.
Only bid if you have the funds available.

Must receive a 20% deposit within 48 hours close of the auction and balance within 7 days close of the auction.
There is no warranty or guarantee  implied or expressed.
Buyer responsible for all the shipping charges, will be glad to assist any way possible.
