SoCal Baurspotters Alert!

Do you know this Baur?

This is a close up of the only pic we have of this E21 Baur at SoCal Vintage yesterday, October 19, 2013. It is hard to tell from this pic if this is a Baur we know, or if it is a new find.

We are reaching out to Baurspotters in the southern California area..... can you help us identify this Baur? Did you attend SoCal Vintage on October 19, 2013? Did you see this car? Do you have any pics of this car?

Baurs at SoCal Vintage October 19, 2013

UPDATE October 21, 2013: 8 Baurs at SoCal Vintage! That's right....EIGHT!* See bottom of post.

SoCal Vintage was held yesterday in Woodley Park, Van Nuys, CA and it appears that there was a great turnout once again!

Thanks to our friend and fellow Baur owner Curtis W. for sending these pics. Curtis also reported that:
he saw this 1600 Cabrio (we believe it is the Carl Nelson/Katy Perry Cabrio), 2 other E30 Baurs, an E21 Baur, plus his own E30 Baur!

That would make 5 Baurs. We are looking to confirm that with pics of the Baurs at the show, and we will post them when we have them.

OK, now it looks as though we have pics of 5 different Baurs at SoCal Vintage, plus, we know that Curtis brought his E30 Baur.....that makes 6! It appears that there could be more.... since Curtis mentioned seeing an E21 Baur that we have not confirmed yet.

UPDATE: We have identified the E21 Baur in the pic above! We have compared the license plate to the pics in our files and....Bingo! We have a winner! That is Sevan's Baur #658 which we have seen at previous shows!

That makes 7 Baurs, including Curtis' (not pictured)!

*UPDATE: Thanks to some pics posted by Jon Shafer, we have spotted another Baur in the crowd at SoCal Vintage on October 19, 2013. There was a Z1 by Baur on the field! that makes 8 Baurs!

That's right, folks! There were 8 Baurs in attendance at the Vintage of Saratoga 2013! We believe that is a new record for Baurs gathered together in one place in the US! And what very special Baurs they were! You may have seen the earlier post with the pics of Dirk's gorgeous 2002 Baur. We will include a link to them below. George K has done a beautiful job on his copper E21 Baur. While Ernie may be a newcomer to our ranks---- and we extend a hearty welcome to him---- you may recognize his beautiful white E21 Baur! That same white Baur was present at Saratoga last year, brought by its previous owner, Greg S. Ernie bought his baur earlier this year. Welcome, Ernie! You may recognize the Lapisblau Baurspotting Baur which is my daily driver--- and looks the part!
A lot of folks don't realize that the 1988 - 1991 production and final assembly of the space frame of the BMW Z1 was done by Baur! Our 5th Baur at Saratoga was the beautiful blue Z1 from New Hampshire, and Baur #6 was the red Z1 on display inside the Museum itself.
The last two Baurs at Saratoga last weekend are special indeed: two examples of the M1 supercar! The white 1981 M1 is owned by Christopher Turner of New Canaan, CT. And the last Baur is the featured attraction of this year's show: the Andy Warhol M1 Art Car, painted by Andy Warhol himself in about 15 minutes. Inside the Museum you could watch the actual video of the car being painted so many years ago.

Here are some more pics of the Baurs that were present on the grounds at Saratoga. Some of the pics are mine, but I misplaced my main camera that day, and was limited to pics with my camera phone. Day um. So most of the pics below were gleaned from the postings of a variety of talented photographers who were better prepared than I that day.
