The Peters E21 Convertible

The E21 was converted to a convertible by several coach convertible companies, including Baur.  Baur was the predominant company, producing 4595 examples of the E21 Baur top Cabriolet between 1978-82..

This is an example of the Peters convertible, a very limited edition of the E21 convertible.

Information on the Peters convertibles based on the BMW E21 Types The tuning firm Peters sits in more detail in the near Paderborn in Delbrück. The conversion was carried out starting in the late eighties years. The exact number is unknown and varies between 100 - 150 pcs According to available services, the conversions were sold as kits, even here there are no exact figures. After a telephone consultation (in 2001) with Hr. Peter Senior are left behind no records. Hr. Peters Jr. is still in the possession of an E21 318i and E30 Peters, the only modification. After years of collection of all information about the vehicles I have known today about 20 vehicles. In addition, I have received the patent specification, original promotional offers by photos before. This pic gives a whole new meaning to a "Gull Wing!"  Or, wait.... was it a "Gold Wing"?            ;)

Now take a good look at possibly describe it in as minimum number of words as possible. I got 'customized' 'Harley' 'stretched' 'limo' 'trike'. Only 5!
Anyway, do not know anything on it as I found this on Motoblog while the original post has appeared on ifun, a russian website which somehow doesn't seem to be working. If anyone can get access, please share any related information
Look closely, the bike in the top picture and bottom pictures (small one) are different, look at the tank and suspensions, so I am not very sure what it this alla bout, but if this thing for real, this has to be the best vehicle to put the 'Just Married' signage on the back. Imagine, it's open and you can seat side by side, plus it has a TV, a sofa cum bed and I am sure there will be a small bar somewhere. So for those waiting to get married, here is an idea which will make your marraige even more memorable.

Production and Export Figures for the E21 TC1 Baur

Baur #00048, possibly one of the original 17 officially exported to Canada.  Presently owned by Afonso in CT.

These are the production numbers for the various engines that were available for the TC1 Baur.  As you can see, the majority of the Baurs came with the M20, either the 2.0L or the 2.3L.

In the chart below, you can see that there are now 65 reported TC1 Baurs in the US.  I am sure that Baurspotting is the source of that figure, although the number needs to be updated.  We have now found and identified 80 TC1 Baurs.  And still counting!

An Old NEW FIND! Wil Bryant's Baur #3596

Hearty thanks to BruceH for tracking down Wil Bryant's Baur plate number (#3596). We have known about Wil and his beautiful Baur since the earliest days of our E21 Baur search, but we have been unable to contact him directly.

HarryPR posted these pics in the "Baur TC1 in the US" thread on 12/10/2010, to give you an idea just how long we have sought this info!  Thanks HarryPR!

I have checked the International Baur Registry,as well as our own "Baur TC1s in the US:  Interim Status Report" and I do not see this Baur plate number listed anywhere.
