British By The Sea June 2, 2019

The 32nd Annual British by the Sea Gathering took place on Sunday June 2, 2019 at the beautiful Harkness Memorial State Park.  Although I no longer own a British car, it remains one of my favorite shows of the year, and it is basically in my backyard!  Here is part of the write-up from the MG Register page, which explains the event:

The CT MG Club's "BRITISH BY THE SEA” is a fun GATHERING of people who own and appreciate British Vehicles of all Marques. Although we do present etched glass mug awards to vehicles selected by popular vote, "BRITISH BY THE SEA" is not a judged show. We want to encourage ALL British car, truck, and motorcycle owners and enthusiasts to attend and have an enjoyable time. Whether your vehicle is in pristine condition, or a daily driver, sparkling paint and chrome or with “Barn Fresh” patina, it deserves to be part of the event and on the display field.

Our featured Marque for our 32nd year will be Classic Mini produced from 1959 thru 2000.. Please put this on your calendar and join us for a Fun GATHERING of all British Marques.

"Restored her in 2017 but the motor was on its way out, we've recently put a whole new motor in and converted to manual at the same time...... we discovered pitting in the cylinder walls, barely had any power and lots of cooking issues ....New engine is amazing and really has given her a new life! Especially with the racing 5 speed manual box.  They're amazing to drive!"

1975 BMW 2004 South Africa: This is NOT a Misprint!

I believe the 2004 was a South Africa only model.

When the E30 BMW was launched in 1982, it was initially only offered in a two-door saloon shell. BMW had no immediate plans to offer a cabriolet, although they knew there was a demand for a soft top. So in co-operation with Karosserie Baur, BMW offered a roof conversion as an expensive optional extra, which saw the main roof skin and rear window removed and replaced with a removable hard top sunroof and folding rear hood. This conversion meant that the car was a targa, making it visibly different from the later cabriolet versions BMW eventually produced themselves. This is a very rare car and head-turner - fully serviced this week and running well. M series leather seats, Scorpion stainless steel exhaust, Toyo tyres, BBS alloys, Alpine CD/USB head unit and Alpine R series custom speakers, fully functioning electric aerial, battery isolator, model specific 316 vintage number plates. Last NCT passed with zero advisories, not due another NCT until 2020. Overhaul service, gearbox linkage, brake calipers and tune up carried out last year by a specialist German master mechanic, alternator reconditioned. Steering wheel and gearstick gaiter re-stitched with new leather. New headliner for sunroof fitted, front sunroof section recovered last year. Rear hood has a few patches but is watertight. Comes with tonneau cover for hood. If you were fussy the rear hood could be replaced as the window is a little clouded. It never bothered me as I usually drive with the roof down. A new replacement rear hood including window can be sourced online for around 380 euro. Always garaged and only taken out on dry days. Located in Dunfanaghy, Co. Donegal. Owned by me for 3 years. I fancy a change but will only sell if the right buyer comes along. 56 euro tax and around 200 euro per year to insure. This is an appreciating classic - No silly offers please.
