We have some sad news to share with you today from our friend and fellow Baur owner, Jesse Nemec. There was a tragic fire over the weekend in the hangar where he has kept his Baur stored. Jesse was out of town at the time, and has just returned to examine the damage. It is a total loss.
Here are the pics he posted today in Facebook. WARNING: they are not for the faint of heart.

Baurspotting goes back a long way with Baur 4210. Here is one of the earliest pics that we have in our files, going to before Seth C. owned it!
There lots more pics on both of those links. This was a beautiful restoration, and we are very saddened to witness its demise. Although I am sure this was a heart-rending experience for our friend, Jesse, we all know that there are worse things that can happen. We are grateful that it wasn't any more serious, in terms of life or limb. Although Baur 4210 was a very special example, the bottom line is that cars can be replaced.
We wish Jesse all the best, and we look forward to seeing the next car he will preserve!
Just makes one's heart ache. So very sorry, Jesse! 'There but for …' do all of us go.
