Thanks to our friend, and fellow Baur owner Eric B. in LA for the heads up on this rare US Spec Baur for sale by our friend Nikos in Vancouver. We posted the sale last month* when the asking price was $14,500, and it has now dropped to $11,900!
N.B. This Baur is one of 25 US Spec Baurs that BMW officially imported to North America, 22 of which went to Canada. It is worth noting that Eric, who spotted this new ad, is ALSO the owner of one of those 25 Baurs! Eric owns one of only 3 of those 25 that came to the US! And what a Baur THAT is! ** Here is a post we did in October on the Baur that Eric owns. But that is only 1/2 of the story! what I SHOULD say is that is the Baur the Eric owns AGAIN! More on that story soon! This is a story that I have been sitting on for YEARS---seriously!--- at Eric's request. He has now given me the go-ahead to post it, so..... stay tuned! It is a great story involving not only a rare---- and very special ---- US Spec Baur, but also a cross-country search for a mystery Baur, and even a tie-in to BMW legend Ron Perry!
