Hi, price is reduced because I want to sell before christmas! Cool looking custom 2002 car came from california in 2010 where the roof had been chopped in 2007 - no flex -has a new autopower rollbar and a clip on softtop - redline Weber Carb - tii brakes - tii instruments under radio - audiobahn stereo - tank has been resealed last year and carb rebuilt - airdam and flares - eurostyle grp rearbumper - runs fine exept for some vapourlock problems on really hot days is summer (electric fuelpump to fix this, comes with it but is not installed) - fuelgauge does not work so always reset odo after topup and refuel again after 200 miles ;) - no rust to mention exept driverside floorpanel, trunk is clear - alot of fun to drive and alot of thumbs up! - have a parts list worth 4000$ of custom parts and rebuilt. there is alot of work in this car, please give her a good home and enjoy vollcabrio feeling for a low price. clear Florida title on my name, and car will of course be empty and clean if you buy it ;) my name is David please text me to 321-289-nine5seven6 or preferably email ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

We have seen many versions of the factory authorized  Baur convertible conversions, and we have recently come across some examples of the rare Lumma aftermarket conversions.  Here is an example of a chop top convertible conversion.  We know nothing else about the car, other than what appears here in the craigs list ad.

Here are the first fully revealed 2013 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo (GT) cars! These two 3 Series GT models, in two different trims, were just spied during a BMW video shoot. 

The 3 Series GT shares a similar front fascia look to the F30 3 series sedan, and a tail end which, although still ungainly, is a slightly sportier improvement from the 5 Series GT [which we've compared with HERE]. 

Although the 3 Series GT (F34) shares a similar front end to the 3 Series sedan, design which it shares with the upcoming 4 Series Coupeis the front fender vent, which was recently spied on a production 4 Series Coupe (F32) model. The different finishes on the fender vents show us the vents on the F32 4 Series coupe should also differ depending on the trim level (i.e. black for M Sport models, satin aluminum for Modern Line).

The Silver GT is a M Sport model with the M Sport front bumper, sideskirts, and rear bumper/diffuser, and M Performance brakes. The wheels are 18" double-spoke style 397, but M Sport wheels will be available for selection. The Havana Metallic / Mojave Metallic GT is a Modern Line model with brushed/satin aluminum trim pieces. 

The 3-Series GT is expected to arrive with the same engine offerings as the F30 3-Series sedan, including four and six cylinder petrol and diesel variants.

What is not yet known is if the GT will be offered in the US. If it does come to the US, expect the official reveal of the car around the time of the 2013 NAIAS in January, otherwise the 2013 Geneva show in March.

Here is a summary of the upcoming 3 Series / 4 Series lineup:

New Baur Find: Colombia! 1982 323i

Hugo originally contacted me looking for some Baur parts, which we have posted in our Baur Parts Wanted page.  Here is his request:

I'm contacting you today because I need your help:

I just started to fix up a BAUR TC1 323i of 1982. As you know, some of the parts of the roof have already been discontinued and this is where my problem starts. I'm looking for the following parts:

Found! BMW 1502 Lumma Conversion!

Big news tonight, folks.  Remember this car?


This is a 1976 BMW 1502 Lumma Conversion Convertible.   VIN 4197640.  You may recall that it was seen in Washington DC, and posted in BMW 2002 FAQ on 8/14/2011.  It was originally from mye28.com, apparently.

Rather a sad-looking example of an extremely rare car, isn't it?  But..... how many Lummas are there in the world?

You will note that at the end of the post, we have a new comment that appeared this afternoon:
I have just restored my extremely rare 1976 BMW 1502 convertible. It looks like a completely different car from the one I purchased in June. Beautiful! New Granada Red paint, new black convertible top, new grill-left and right side, new center grill, replaced bumpers, door moldings-black and stainless, belt molding, new hood, new trunk, new trunk floor and spare tire well, replaced wheel wells, all seams sealed, all rust removed, new fuse box, new front end, replaced shock towers, rear struts, replaced rear tail lights with excellent used tail lights. Re-wired tail and plate lights. I have a lot of money into it, but am not sure what it is worth. Any ideas? I cannot find a comparable car listed anywhere.

Found!  I have been in touch with the owner, Jerry R., and he confirms that he purchased this very same Lumma conversion last June.  He is restoring it, as you can see, and it is currently residing in Massachusetts!  We look forward to hearing more about this car, and we hope to see it at some future events in the greater Boston area!  Congrats to Jerry R., and welcome!

Baurspotting is working on finding out more info on the Lumma convertibles here in the US.  They appear to be very rare indeed!
