1982 BMW 323i Baur

1982 BMW 323i Baur
Memorial Day 2010 First Drive 1982 323i BMW Baur Lapisblau M20 5 speed #4154 of 4595 made. The car was imported to California by Dietel Enterprises. I have since changed the wheels, installed the clear turn signal lenses, and I am in the process of installing a new cabriolet roof. I have to do something about those bumpers, too. :) I love this car! To see one of the reasons why, check my post "Score One For the Good Guys" on 6/26/2011.

3)  Vintage at Saratoga 2013  The BIG one!
2013 marks the fourth year of Vintage at Saratoga. This year we are gathering on the lawn of the Saratoga Automobile Museum in October so that we may pair with the opening weekend of the BMW Vintage and Classic Car Club of America’s week long holiday. While the two are separate and stand alone events we will join in on a few shared activities. October also marks the closing weeks of the museum’s BMW exhibit and so attendees will also be treated to experience some of the very finest classic BMWs cars on the floor of the museum.

Two amazing Baurs are ALREADY inside the Saratoga Automobile Museum for the exhibition:  the famous Andy Warhol M1 Art Car, and the Frank Stella M1 Art Car!   Lothar Schuettler's Concours-Winning 1937 BMW 328, considered by BMW to be the most original 328 IN THE WORLD, is also already there!

OK, folks.  This is a CAN"T MISS event!  Frank Greppo, Scott Stowell et al of the Patroon Chapter BMWCCA have organized a coordinated event par excellence!  1) The BMW Vintage at Saratoga!  2) The Saratoga Automobile Museum featuring the BMW Marque all summer long!   3) The BMW Vintage and Classic Car Club of America Opening Weekend!

This is the Ultimate Trifecta!

P.T. Barnum, on his best day, wishes that he had, in his day, the

scope and breadth of the show that Frank and Scott have brought to

-----  Paraphrased with loving respect from "GET SHORTY" (1995), From the novel by Elmore Leonard, starring John Travolta, Gene Hackman, Rene Russo and Danny Devito. One of my Top Five Movies of all time.    ;)

Once again, Baurspotting will be at all three events:  Larz Anderson, Lime Rock Historics Sunday in the Park, and the Saratoga Vintage!!  We look forward to seeing you there!  Please stop by and say "hello"!
