Memorial Day 2010 First Drive 1982 323i BMW Baur Lapisblau M20 5 speed #4154 of 4595 made. The car was imported to California by Dietel Enterprises. I have since changed the wheels, installed the clear turn signal lenses, and I am in the process of installing a new cabriolet roof. I have to do something about those bumpers, too. :) I love this car! To see one of the reasons why, check my post "Score One For the Good Guys" on 6/26/2011.

CSL Garage: Restoration Of A Smashed E9 CSL!

CSL's Garage from Budapest Hungary is a friend of Baurspotting from Facebook.  They are repairing an E9 CSL that was hit while stopped by a car travelling an estimated 50 mph.  Please check out their repair/restoration project at the website below.  You won't believe it! Amazing craftsmanship!  Here are a few pics from that site to whet your appetite!

Miklós Mészáros of CSL's Garage has sent me some updated info today (May 20, 2013). Thank you Miklos!

The owner of the car is John Furley of the UK.  He had the car transported about 2000km from England (where the accident occurred) to CSL's Garage in Budapest, Hungary.

Here is a pic from the actual scene of the accident, from John Furley's page (see below for link):

The damaged car is delivered to CSL Garage.  September 27, 2012.

Oh my.

OK, here is the wiring loom for the CSL.

I love this!

Stripped out for repair... can you see where the roof is out of alignment?

Getting ready to straighten the roof.

Hand made floor pan!

Newly installed splash pan.

New legs.   Taken May 19, 2013.

Work is still in progress.  Check back from time to time!  Lots more pics on the Facebook page below.  Fantastic!
