At the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 1967 Pietro Frua be presented based on the BMW / glass before 3000 V8 Fastback Coupe designed with large rear window flap. Another time he showed the car two weeks later in October 1967 at the Paris Motor Show in March 1968 at the Geneva show, and in June 1969 the Motor Show in Barcelona. It remained in the single-piece, since BMW had already decided to set the preferred glass and V8 developed in-house for the 1968 introduced the successor to the CS coupe.
