1982 BMW 323i Baur

1982 BMW 323i Baur
Memorial Day 2010 First Drive 1982 323i BMW Baur Lapisblau M20 5 speed #4154 of 4595 made. The car was imported to California by Dietel Enterprises. I have since changed the wheels, installed the clear turn signal lenses, and I am in the process of installing a new cabriolet roof. I have to do something about those bumpers, too. :) I love this car! To see one of the reasons why, check my post "Score One For the Good Guys" on 6/26/2011.

1975 BMW Cabrio Targa by Baur---- Serviced by Jaymic!

1975 Cabrio Targa by Baur... Jaymic Workshop!   Malaga!  I found this today.... along with 5 other Baurs on ebay UK! This looks like a beauty, so it gets posted first!  ;)

Full disclosure:  the REAL reason it gets posted first is because I love it!  There.   I said it!  :)

Jaymic is a very well known BMW specialist, btw.  We even know about them over here in the USA!

Stay tuned for the other 5 Baurs, coming soon!

"We are delighted to offer this very rare BMW 2002 Targa top convertible by Baur onto the market. HLJ 793N had one owner from 1992 to 2015 based in South East London and over the 23 years the BMW covered in the region of 35,000 miles averaging around 1500 miles per annum. The BMW is finished in Red with Black trim and there is no evidence to suggest the car has ever changed colour. It appears totally correct and comes with an excellent history with invoices for maintenance and restoration work dating back many years. We also have MOT certificates dating back to 1989 and old V5 logbooks.

This is clearly a car that is capable of long distance touring and regular use. The car has been superbly well maintained and in 2004/2005 was subject of major restoration work with marque specialists ‘The Jaymic Workshop Ltd' totalling in excess of £8,500. This work included substantial bodywork to include fitting new left and right rear quarter panels, new left and right rear inner wheel arches, left and right outer sill panels, new boot floor and major work to inner sills (new reinforcing panel), sub frame mounting area, lower A post sections and upper suspension mount panels. On completion of the major bodywork the BMW was fully re-painted. Mechanical work at this point included replacing both brake servo's, new front to rear brake pipes, new brake shoes, drums and cables, replacement of both rear flexi hoses, replacing remote linkage mounting bushes and stay bar, replacing propshaft centre bearing, new front brake pipes, new heavy duty gearbox rear mount, new gear change linkages, new thermostat and category two immobiliser. The engine was also serviced and set up to run perfectly.

Since this major work the BMW has covered around 20,000 miles and is in impressive mechanical order. It has proven its case for reliability, regular use and long distance touring and drives exceptionally well. The 2.0 engine runs beautifully, delivers impressive performance and gear changes are lovely and smooth. The BMW handles incredibly well, brakes are sharp and efficient and it runs superbly. The bodywork after twelve years is still looking impressive with straight panels, an impressive paint finish and good brightwork. The hood is in excellent order and the engine bay presents as very original and could be detailed and taken to a high standard. The interior trim is still largely original and we have sourced a similar ‘dog tooth' material from BMW specialists to replace the two aged pieces of material on the driver's seat and rear seat. On completion, the BMW interior will look in keeping with the rest of the car and importantly, will retain a nice patina and original look. This is a rare model, has had substantial work carried out and is perfect for regular use, general classic car driving and can be taken to show, rallies and events with pride.

Please note there are additional photographs on our own website (Classic & Sportscar Centre).
