1982 BMW 323i Baur

1982 BMW 323i Baur
Memorial Day 2010 First Drive 1982 323i BMW Baur Lapisblau M20 5 speed #4154 of 4595 made. The car was imported to California by Dietel Enterprises. I have since changed the wheels, installed the clear turn signal lenses, and I am in the process of installing a new cabriolet roof. I have to do something about those bumpers, too. :) I love this car! To see one of the reasons why, check my post "Score One For the Good Guys" on 6/26/2011.

Wanted: Baur Pics From The Vintage at the Vineyards 2015!

Baurspotters Alert!  This weekend is the 12th Annual Vintage (formerly The Vintage at the Vineyards) in Old Salem, NC!  This is one of the largest, and arguably one of the best, vintage BMW meets in the USA!  If you can go....DO IT!

My tentative plan to attend this year was just not in the cards, I am sorry to say, but I will make it one of these days!

So, Baurspotters, it is up to you to get some pics of the Baurs at this year's show!  Baurspotting would be much obliged to any and all who can shoot some pics of this year's attendees!

Tonight's post is intended to give you a little heads up on which Baurs to be on the look out for, based on previous attendance.  What follows is a compendium of Baurs pics taken by a variety of photographers including, but not limited to: Online Roundel, Der Bayerrische, jgerock, Bill W., Mike

Pugh, Reggie's Motorworks, Humberto Marti, Collin Madison Blackburn, Layne Wylie, Bam2002,

Sully32, HarryB., Eric P., Jeff  D.,  and Brad Day.

Thanks to all!

Here are some of the Baurs that have made an appearance at previous Vintages, so be on the lookout for those in particular!

Baurspotting did some research on the cover photo, and thanks to the help of 02Les and jgerock

and others, we were able to identify the four Cabrios pictured above.  They are shown below!

Chris I's Cabrio Targa from Philadelphia which has since been damaged in a hit and run while parked.

Bob's 1600 Cabrio from 2012
Rob's  Lumma Cabrio from VA
Dirk de G. from FL

This next Baur was a mystery to us for a couple of years, but we finally tracked it down!
We have since identified the owner from Hickory, NC, although we think it may have been sold to Nick O within the past year.  Unconfirmed, so stay tuned!

Formerly Bruce H's TC1 Beauty from Atlanta, since sold

Bruce and Hickory NC Baurs
As you can see, we had a ton of pics of the Mystery Baur, but no one could identify it.

Here is a post on how we tracked it down, finally:

So, Baurspotters, please keep your eyes peeled for any of these Baurs---- and who knows what others may show up!

Stay alert!  ;)

Thanks in advance, folks!  Have a ball at The Vintage!
