Euro 1984 BMW 323i BAUR - $8495 (Mount Pleasant)
Charleston, SC
This 1984 323i Baur TC2 is a grey-market import finished in Alpine White with a black retractable top and powered by a 2.3 liter inline-six paired with a 5-speed manual transmission . The car was acquired four years ago and I put 10k of its 156,000 indicated miles.Modifications include Recaro seats, and Alpina air dam, and carbon fiber interior trim. Recent work consisted of a new timing belt, water pump, valve adjustment and oil change and much more. This E30 is offered with four years of records, a car fax report and a Clean South Carolin Title.
The car retains European-spec bumpers, grilles, "smiley" ellipsis headlights, and yellow tired high beams. Gold BBS basket weave wheels wear New, Nitto Extreme Performance tires.
All the work that has been done to this car while I owned it was performed by Exclusivey Bimmers in Mount Pleasant,SC and no expense was spared I have the paperwork to prove it.
To much to list ,must see in person. Pm me to set up appointment to see the car, Thanks

Small Baur World.... Strikes Again! Ed Ullom's 1600/2002tii Cabrio Reappears!
UPDATE OCTOBER 23, 2018: It turns out that David Alan was not the ONLY person to shoot a video of Vincent and his Baur Voll Cabrio that day in October of 2015***! Check it out below! Thank you for sharing, Vincent!
It all started out innocently enough, with a 'heads up' from our friend, and fellow Baur owner, Mike Pugh in North Carolina. A previously unknown Baur Cabrio Targa had been spotted at the Euro Auto Fest in Spartanburg, South Carolina last weekend. Some pics had been posted in the 2002FAQ, and, after doing a little follow-up work, I learned (from another friend and Baur Cabrio Targa owner, Don Bower) that this Targa had just been purchased recently by Scott and Fran Hughes from Oldenzaal Classics in The Netherlands (whom we have written about before), and that it had spent most of its life in Rome. It sounds like a great story, and we look forward to learning more about it!
But, as often happens, I took a little detour onto the Oldenzaal Classics site to see what ELSE they might have on hand, and I was not disappointed. Sure enough, Oldenzall has lots of other interesting cars for sale, including a nice silver 1600 Voll Cabrio by Baur! So, naturally, I did a little post about it for the blog and our Baurspotting Facebook page and..... that's when the coincidences..... got a little crazy! ;)
I shared the Baurspotting post on the 2002 page, and a guy named Vincent J. Gladfelter comments: "I GOT A 1968 1600 CONVERTIBLE!"
Well, that always gets my attention, but I did not recognize his name, and frankly had no idea where he might be on the planet. So I checked his Facebook page, where I found this photo of a red Voll Cabrio!
Whoa! I recognized it immediately by the wheels and the front plate! I knew this Baur! In fact, I had seen this Baur in person 7 years ago on my 'Roaming Baur' trip through Pennsylvania!*
Here is my pic of this very same Baur taken at The Bullenstall Museum, Mechanicsburg, PA, August 10, 2011! Note the wheels and the distinctive front plate! ;)
At that time it was owned by the estimable Ed Ullom, and it had been part of his Bullenstall Museum Collection in Mechanicsburg, PA! And who is Ed Ullom? He is very well-known and esteemed car dealer and collector, and the recipient of the prestigious BMW "Friend of the Marque' Award back in 2012!
http://baurspotting.blogspot.com/2012/11/baur-owner-ed-ullom-wins-bmw-friend-of.html
(Unfortunately the photos from that post have degraded for some reason, and are no longer visible. My apologies. ----Ed.)
Ed had put this Baur, along with another E21 Baur, on the market at Carlisle about four years ago, when he was downsizing his collection. It was finally sold sometime in 2015, I believe, and we have been looking for it ever since! The buyer left an Anonymous comment on the Baurspotting post sometime after that, saying: AnonymousJune 13, 2017 at 9:10 PM
"Happy to have this car now".
A tantalizing clue, but we had no idea who that could be, or where he was located!
The only other clue we had was thanks to our friend, David Alan, who shot a 13 second VIDEO of a red Voll Cabrio Baur when he travelled alongside it for a few miles on the highway in October of 2015! Now, really, what are the chances of THAT happening! David sent me the video and we recognized it as the same car that was previously sold by Ed Ullom! Amazing, and ... Small Baur World! ;)
Here is a screen shot from that video! Recognize those wheels? We did! ;)
You can view the whole video at this link:
http://baurspotting.blogspot.com/2015/10/small-baur-world-redux-david-allan.html
Over the years, Baurspotting has done a number of different posts on this car, on several occasions when it was 'spotted' by one or another of our informal team of 'Baurspotters'! (Their numbers are Legion!) ;)
Here are three of the posts:
http://baurspotting.blogspot.com/2014/07/ed-ulloms-two-baurs-going-to-carlisle.html
http://baurspotting.blogspot.com/2014/09/ed-ulloms-two-baurs-at-carlisle-auction.html
So anyway, to make a long story short, once again it is a Small Baur World because, as it turns out, Vincent J. Gladfelter was the buyer of Ed Ullom's Voll Cabrio, he WAS the anonymous commenter on the Baurspotting post, and he does indeed now own this 1600/2002tii Voll Cabrio Baur.
And it is by pure happenstance that we discovered all of that today!
So..... WELCOME TO BAURSPOTTING, VINCENT! And congratulations on your beauteous Baur!
Here are some photos from Vincent J. Gladfelter's Facebook page, showing the Voll Cabrio Baur during his tenure of ownership. This was originally a 1600 Voll Cabrio. Ed Ullom converted it to a 2002tii engine during his ownership.

The following photos are from the Sale Listing at Carlisle back in 2014.
"CVM" was Cumberland Valley Motors, which was the dealership owned by Ed Ullom.

*** As it turns out, David Alan was not the only person to shoot a video of Vincent in his red Voll Cabrio by Baur that same day in October 2015! Vincent participated in the Mille for MS Rally at Pocono Raceway that day, and was on his way home when David spotted him. However earlier in the day, Vincent and his Baur were ALSO captured on a video during the Mille for MS Rally on the Pocono Raceway! Vincent shared the video with us today. Check out the 3:35-3:41 section of the video: top down BMW Baur fun on the Pocono Raceway!
Here are a couple of screen shots of the Pocono video! Photos are a little blurry because, well, that's what happens when you are doing 100+ on the speedway! He said he surprised a few Porsches that day! ;)
Link to the video: enjoy! ;)

Seller’s Description:
1973 BMW 2002 Targa / Cabriolet
This BMW 2002 Targa was built in 1973 and delivered in Chamonix white. This very car is one the first 2002 Targa's with the later-style square taillights, Serial number 16! A very nice and classic color combination: white paint over a black interior and a black softtop.
This 2002 Baur was built on 13-9-1973 and delivered to the same day to BMW Dealer Alfred Wahl KG in Hüttental-Weidenau in Germany. In 2016 the car was sold to a BMW Dealership in Belgium, for the private collection. Documentation of this ownership is present.
What we have a very solid BMW 2002 Targa in the beautiful color Chamonix white. The paint is very good and has a deep shine to it. The body is honest, nice and solid. Proper shutlines and bodywork and a proper paintjob.
Thanks to trim like nice and fresh chrome bumpers, lighting, blinkers and new emblems this Targa makes a beautiful and as new impression. The softtop is brand new and has been replaced by us. The folding roof (with brand new clear window), the flat, detachable roof and the B/C-pillar have been professionally reupholstered.
The set of period-correct wheels have been powdercoated, have brand new tires and emblems.
The engine bay is nice, original and unrestored. There is the original, matching numbers engine. A 2,0L M10, it runs beautiful and powerful. It recently had a major inpsection with many new parts.
We have recently changed the oil and filter, set the valve clearance and tuned the carburator. The sparkplugs, cap, rotor, condensator and ignition leads have been replaced. The alternator has been rebuilt and the battery, starter and coolant hoses have been replaced.
As you can read: a very solid 2002 Targa in a beautiful condition and technically 100% up to date. Ready for many years of sheer open driving pleasure.
A recent valuation rapport is present. According to the valuator (Member of the German Valuator and Expertscouncil) the condition of the car is a 2 and the value is at €38.000 / $44.500.
