1982 BMW 323i Baur
Memorial Day 2010 First Drive 1982 323i BMW Baur Lapisblau M20 5 speed #4154 of 4595 made. The car was imported to California by Dietel Enterprises. I have since changed the wheels, installed the clear turn signal lenses, and I am in the process of installing a new cabriolet roof. I have to do something about those bumpers, too. :) I love this car! To see one of the reasons why, check my post "Score One For the Good Guys" on 6/26/2011.

Greece: TC2 Baur!

Found this today on the Bmw fan Baur e30,e36,e38 Facebook page.  Congrats to Maik V., and welcome to Baurspotting!

Since we do not know the Baur plate number on this, we do not know if it a NEW Find, or if it is already listed in the International Baur Registries.  We will let you know when we know more.

Stay tuned!

Baur Booth at Stuttgart Retro Classics 2015

Thanks to Baur Guru Jeroen J. of The Netherlands for posting these pics in Facebook today!  This is the Baur Booth at the Retro Classics Show in Stuttgart.  I am not sure of the exact date.

If this TC1 is Lapisblau, then it looks nearly identical to my own Baurspotting Baur, right down to the clear turn signal lenses!  My Baur could use some paint, of course, and seeing this one is an inspiration to get that done one of these days!

We have seen this red pickup converted from a TC2 Baur before.  Beautifully done!  And a nice TC4 on the right!

Thank you for posting, Jeroen!

Colombia Project: 1972 2002 Cabrio Targa by Baur

This is the third of three posts related to our new found friend in Colombia, Juan Carlos Gonzalez Ortega.  In the first two posts we shared some of the pics that Juan took at the OKFest 2010 in Colombia;   a beautiful --- and uber-rare----- Golf Yellow 2002 Voll Cabrio*, and a BMW M1** super car.

This brings us to our third installment in the series:  Juan's 1972 2002 Cabrio Targa by Baur project!  It is because of this car that we first met Juan a couple of days ago.  Juan made an inquiry in Facebook about a Baur badge that he was seeking for his Cabrio Targa.  Cabrio Targa in Colombia!  Whoa!  ;)  As you can imagine, that got my attention immediately!

This is the Baur badge he was seeking:  we have seen them on the lower quarter panels of some Cabrio Targas.

One thing led to another, and I am now pleased to be able to share pics of Juan's work-in-progress:  1972 BMW Cabrio Targa in Colombia!
As you can see, this Cabrio Targa is a project.  We applaud Juan for taking this project on, to preserve another of these very rare Baurs!   It certainly looks like it will need a lot of work!  Kudos and thank you, Juan!  ;)

Juan tells us that these pics are from 2010, and, for various reasons, the project has been on hold for a few years.  We understand completely!
And Baurspotting hereby pledges our support to Juan in this endeavor.  We have a global network of Baur friends who I am sure feel the same way that I do, and are eager to lend their help to see this project completed.  You have friends out here, Juan!  :)

This project has a long way to go, as you can see.  We look forward to future updates on this baud from Juan, whenever he is able to resume working on it.  Kudos to you, Juan, and please don't hesitate to ask us for help!
