1982 BMW 323i Baur
Memorial Day 2010 First Drive 1982 323i BMW Baur Lapisblau M20 5 speed #4154 of 4595 made. The car was imported to California by Dietel Enterprises. I have since changed the wheels, installed the clear turn signal lenses, and I am in the process of installing a new cabriolet roof. Colchester Green August 16, 2017

On the third Wednesday of the month, from April through September, the Good Times Motoring Club sponsors a car show on the Colchester (CT) Green.  It is an amazing show and you never know what you are going to see there: antiques, hot rods, classics from the 10's, 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's.   Really.  The cut off date is 1988.  I try to make it as often as I can, and I am usually the only BMW present, unless my friend, Joe Cunningham brings his '02.
(This one is especially for you, Karel Jennings:  1951 Dodge Coronet.  I had a nice chat with the owner and his girlfriend, and told him all about your '49er. It has been heavily modified:  he picked it up for $500 with a bad engine etc, dropped in a V8 diesel, and now uses it as a daily driver, hauler, tow vehicle!  I loved it, and so does he!)

Car enthusiasts of all stripes are welcome, and last night was no exception.  The Green was filled to capacity, there had to be 400+ cars there.  My arrival was delayed by a late start and then an unforeseen 1/2 hour  traffic backup enroute.  So when I finally arrived at the venue, they had reached capacity, and I was denied entry!  First time that has ever happened to me!  Disappointed, but undaunted, I circled the Green one more time, determined to get inside. I found what appeared to be a break in the parking area, and attempted to shoot in, but I was immediately stopped by one of the Good Times Club parking staff, who informed me that I couldn't park there because that was the only exit. Day um!  I asked if he could put me way over to the edge of the exit where I wouldn't interfere with traffic flow.... and he paused, looked at me and said.... "I have seen you here with this car before, so OK!"

He recognized the Baur!  (Baur Content!)  Yay!  And I was in!  I made a point of clearly expressing my gratitude to the guy, whom I didn't know, btw.

It was a Car Guy Brotherhood Moment!

Anyway, the show was incredible, once again.  Definitely the biggest I have ever seen it.  I shot some pics, but I could not even come close to covering them all.  So what you see below are some of the ones that I liked.... but the fact of the matter is that I loved them ALL!
