Baurs at Larz: Three Baurs And a Lumma, Baby!

You may have already seen our first post on this event entitled:  The MeetUp.
We gathered together a small group of BMW Baurs (3), and an uber-rare 1976 1502 BMW Lumma convertible conversion a few miles from Larz Anderson Auto Museum so that we could arrange an early 'en masse' arrival and hopefully park together as a group. We got together in Newton about 8:15am, and arrived on schedule at the venue around 9am as it opened.  Sure enough, our plan worked like a charm, and we were able to park as a group in the very front row at the event!

I am pleased to present to you a pictorial record of the day, thanks to the photographic efforts of Ed P, Lee P. of Nor'East '02ers, and Yours Truly.  Thank you all!

At the end of the show, as the field cleared out, Ed suggested that we shoot some group shots.  Good call, Ed!

A perfect summer day at a perfect venue!

Some group shots before departing.  And a wayward fingertip. Oops!

N.B.  Some notes on the 1502 Lumma:  Most E10 Cabrios were Baurs, both the Voll Cabriolets and the Baur Cabrio Targas.  A very limited number of E10s, in this case a 1502, were converted to convertibles by Lumma.  I know of only three such E10 Lumma convertibles in the US, and this is one of the three.  there is another red one, and there was also a yellow tii that I know of.  the red one one is out in the Midwest somewhere last I heard, and the yellow one is a rust bucket parts car.  There could be more that we have not been able to find...... if so, LET ME KNOW!  :)

BTW, the 1502 is another very rare limited model, but that is another story.  the BMW judges at the Concours at Larz Anderson had a hard time believing it was really a 1502!  Trust me.... it's a 1502!
