We hope that this will be the first in a series of posts about an exciting new project that we have just learned about today.

Matt McGinn of Sports Car Restoration in Plainville CT posted the following in Facebook today:

"building a baur"

Whoa!  THAT got my attention, as you can imagine!

So for now, this is all we know.  Pretty exciting news, however.  Baurspotting will be riveted to this thread, following it with bated breath!  Sports Car Restoration Inc. (SCR) is located right here in Connecticut, btw, about an hour away from us.  We have featured the shop in a couple of posts here previously.  (See end of article for more links to Baurspotting at SCR.)  They also have their own page in Facebook.  Check it out!

We also know that Sports Car Restoration has had a number of Baurs in the shop this year.  The pics below are some of the pics I took on two separate visits to SCR earlier this year.  The first set of pics were taken on Father's Day, June 2013, and you will see that there were 4 different Baurs in the shop that day.

700LS Cabrio  (Stay tuned, btw, I have a funny story about this car coming soon.)

The pics below were taken at the SCR Open House on September 1, 2013.

The 700 Cabrio was still there.

So was the Cabrio Targa.

And the Voll Cabriolet.

And the Cabrio Targa shell.

If I were to venture a guess, I might guess that these two pics may be somehow related (and the Cabrio Targa shell above)..... but I really have no idea.

Does that spare tire well seen in the welding pic belong to this shell?
(Check the NEW pic at the top of the page.  I think this is the car.  Awaiting confirmation, stay tuned.)
Confirmed!  12/4/2013 10:25am:    John ODea That's the one Tom
Thank you, John!

Stay tuned, folks!  Only the folks at SCR know for sure!  We will do our best to keep you posted on this exciting project!  I can't wait to watch the fellas at SCR work their magic!!

Kudos to SCR for taking this Baur project on!
