Thanks to our friend and fellow Baur owner Dirk de Groen for sending us this link to a post in the BMW Oldtimers Club Italia by Luca Angeli.
I am not sure, but it appears that the cars came from southern Italy, and Luca spotted them on the transport truck around Salzburg on his way to Munich.
