Terry S's Calderesque '02 Race Car at Mid_America Fest 2014!

Mid-America '02 Fest 2014
Eureka Springs, Arkansas
April 26, 2014

Another featured attraction at this year's Fest:  Terry S of Texas brought his street legal race car.  My understanding is that this is an E36 M3 rebodied with a 2002 shell.  (It's actually '02 bodywork grafted to a shortened, narrowed E36 M3 pan. It's a true race car but has required components to be street legal.)

The paint job is a recreation of the famous Calder Art Car.  Thanks to Mike P. for the pics!
(The BMW Art Car Project was introduced by the French racecar driver and auctioneer Hervé Poulain, who wanted to invite an artist to create a canvas on an automobile.  In 1975, Poulain commissioned American artist and friend Alexander Calder to paint the first BMW Art Car. This first example would be a BMW 3.0 CSL which Poulain himself would race in the 1975 Le Mans endurance race.  -----Wikipedia)  See pic below*.

Whatever it is, it drew a lot of attention at the event!  I have heard it referred to as the "Frankenbimmer'.  Now I do not know if that is the official nickname, but I am told that it is indeed a.....MONSTER!

;)

Mike P. gets the feel of it!

Two pics below from Rob Siegel:

At the Final Picture Session
Terry S's white M2 Cabrio Targa by Baur is parked facing the race car, and the two NK's are in the center of the pic.
