Paging Les: More Baurs from 2002AD

These are pics of some Cabrios and Targas that I found listed here:
http://www.2002ad.com/pages/carsforsale.cfm

As you can see from the notes, this info goes back a few years.  I stumbled upon these while innocently minding my own business, scrolling through some 2002 pics, as I often do.

Suddenly this pic popped up!
Whoa!   What is this?  ..... and it looks familiar.

1974 2002 targa cabriolet - SOLD 8/11
Light green/black, only 66,000 miles, original single-barrel carb, runs great, original paint, Recaro seats,
great-looking E30 "iS" wheels, service records, upgraded stereo. $8,000.

Those pics looked like a car I have seen pics of recently in LA.

I got this message from Les (an authoritative source on such things from 2002FAQ) today on my post about this green Targa:
http://baurspotting.blogspot.com/2013/12/baur-targa-cabrio-from-california-circa.html
"I think it is the same car. VIN 3590536.
Was for sale 2006 to 2010 by a Roundel Seller in Rochester, NY.
Then on Ebay from 2011 to Apr 2013 by "estatesalespecialists" in Los Angeles, CA.

HTH,

Les"

I agree with Les, and I willtry to confirm that info, because i believe I know the current owner through this blog.

So stay tuned!

In the meantime...... I scrolled further down the 2002AD page tonight.... and look what I found!!  More Baurs!

I am hoping that, with Les' help again perhaps, we can track these Baurs down also!   :)  Les is a great resource, and I understand that he has tracking files on 2002s in the US, including the Baurs, both Voll Cabrios and Cabrio Targas.  Hopefully, we can collaborate with him on finding these Baurs!

  1. Hi Tom,
Verona = 1972 Cabrio conversion (Lumma?)
Car appeared on Ebay Germany Dec '11 & Jan "12. Was previously in California. Don't have the VIN.

Tundra = 2795954. Jaime Munoz import. Has also been on Ebay on/off from 2005. Last known (to me) in San Jose, CA.

Inka = a mystery to me. For sure pic shows it was in Japan (the rear tags lights are typical for Japan delivered '02s. I'll keep looking for this one.

    Les (not really anonymous!)

  2. Thanks, Les! You are a great resource, and I appreciate the help!

I see that the Verona does say 'cabrio replica', implying that it is perhaps not a Baur original. I do know of a Lumma in the Boston area, but it is an 1802.

We will keep looking also. There are lots of Baurspotters out there these days, and they are a great help to us! I am sure something will turn up sooner or later! Stay tuned! ;)
