I was talking with my friend Gary this morning, and he mentioned that one of the most impressive things he had ever seen was the Shockwave Truck at an airshow a few years ago. He saw it race a plane! Gary is not a car guy, and so I thought if this impressed him, it was worth a look!

Shockwave is the first of the Shockwave
trucks. It currently holds the world record for jet-powered full-sized trucks
at 376 miles per hour (605 km/h).[1] The truck has three Pratt & Whitney J34-48 jets, which
allow the truck to complete the quarter-mile in 6.63 seconds.[2]
The Super Shockwave is the most recent of the
two trucks. The truck has two Pratt & Whitney J-34-48 jet engines. The
truck is built on a 1957 Chevy cab. In the full mile, the truck is able to
reach 336 mph.[3]

When Les Shockley created the SHOCKWAVE Jet Truck in 1984 he had no idea the major impact this Triple Jet Engine Monster would have on not only the Drag Racing World but also the Airshow Industry. SHOCKWAVE has literally become a National Icon. We have many fans who say they saw this truck perform when they were kids. As a matter of fact Chris Darnell, who shares the driving responsibilities with his Dad Neal, got to ride in SHOCKWAVE at the young age of 7 years old and now he's in the Drivers Seat, a dream come true for him.
With Darnell Racing Enterprises recent acquisition and rebuild of the famous SHOCKWAVE we are in the middle of a very busy 2013 Season.
Anticipation and planning for the SHOCKWAVE 30th ANNIVERSARY Tour in 2014 is well underway with over 10 Shows already on the 2014 Schedule.
