A Classic Vintage Moment Captured

Here we have a candid pic that captures a lot of the essence of the Vintage at the Vineyards for me:

The setting is the parking lot of the Hawthorne, host hotel of the Vintage.  We can see several generations of vintage BMWs in the pic.  And we also have a couple of generations of Bimmer enthusiasts frozen in time.... timeless.

On the left is Mike Pugh, owner of the 2002 Baur Cabrio Targa that we have featured in an earlier post here.  He is chatting with Collin Madison Blackburn, whose photographs of The Vintage you will also see liberally spread throughout our posts on The Vintage.  Thank you, Collin, btw.... great job on those pics!  Mike and Collin are looking at Collin's beautiful Malaga 2002 parked in front of them.  Immediately to the right of Collin's '02 you can see Scott Porter's red E30 TC2 Baur.  Nice moment, fellas.  And kudos to whoever took this pic. We are all in your debt.

OK, update:  We now know that it was Mom who took the pic!  Thank you to Collin's Mom!  ;)
And Happy Belated Mother's Day!

OK, OK.... fair is fair:
Happy Early Father's Day, Dad!
Kudos to the both of you for bringing up that kid!  ;)   Nice job!

And, for the moment, at least, we will overlook that Tarheel blue shirt..... since I am a Hoya who remembers 1982!!  ;)
But... we are over that now.... sort of.  ;)

Oh... and just for the record.... Elizabeth's 1979 320i is Fjord blue NOT Tarheel blue!

See?  I AM over it!

  ;)

  1. Actually, Elizabeth's car is Pastellblau :)
I'm supposed to get in touch with her about the interior of that car, no such luck so far.

  2. The color chart link above shows the Pastelblau as darker than Elizabeth's car appears in your pic. Her car is in the bright sun, and the car in the link appears in the shade. It is hard to distinguish the various shades with factors like that..... I just took a guess anyway.
My point, however was that I didn't want anyone confusing it with 'Tarheel' blue. ;)
Truth be told, I actually DO like the Tarheel blue and white colors. :) Always have. And, as an E21 fan (I have 4 of them), I also really like the color of Elizabeth's car.
