Baurspotting Passes A Milestone!

I am pleased, not to mention amazed, to announce that today, as of a few minutes ago, Baurspotting has  passed the 100,000 views mark!

Holy Mackerel, Andy!

When we started this adventure just about two years ago now, we knew we were reaching out to a very small, niche audience.  At the time, we believed that there were only about 25 or 30 BMW E21 Baurs in the United States, and our goal was to locate and identify them.  We started very modestly, and we were receiving about 10 views a day.

We soon found out that there were a lot more E21 Baurs out there than we anticipated (85 to date, and we believe that there may be another 20-30 out there awaiting discovery), and we also found, much to our surprise, that there was also a lot more interest in Baurs than we had anticipated.

We quickly discovered that this interest was not limited to the US!  We started informally keeping track of where in the world our blog viewers were located, and we were totally amazed at what we found!  Within about six months, we had been read by folks in over 110 countries around the globe.  Believe me, NO ONE was more amazed at that fact than I!  This quickly turned into a geography lesson for me, btw, since a number of countries appeared on the blog that I had never heard of!  Amazing.

Well, in the meantime, a lot has happened.  In addition to the running blog postings, we have added a number of supplementary pages to serve our viewing audience.  Most prominently, we added a "Baurs For Sale" page, and a Baur Parts Wanted/For Sale" page, where we offer free space to anyone selling a BMW Baurs or Baur parts, and a few automotive items of interest to our readers.

We have also expanded our scope of interest, recognizing that the fact that BMW and Baur collaborated on a number of models over the years, besides the E21 Top Cabriolet.  Those models include the 502 Cabrios, the BMW 700, the 1600/2002 Voll Cabrios, the 2002"Targa" Cabrio, the E30 TC2, the 'one-off' TC3, and the E36 TC4.

Baurspotting also expanded to include other non-Baur topics that we believed may be of interest, such as info and equipment on working safely.

All of which has apparently broadened our appeal to the point where Baurspotting has cracked through the 100,000 views threshold!

Once again.... NO ONE is more amazed by this than I.

Thank you to all who have helped us reach this level, and we will continue to work to earn your interest and support.  This has always been a Labor of Love for me, and I still feel like we are only getting started!  Just to give you  an indication of what I mean by that..... this will be post #440.  And that doesn't include the 11 other pages of material posted on the site, plus the various Google maps and charts in the sidebar.

However, I have OVER 600 more posts right now that are in 'draft status', awaiting some editing or other tweaking before they get posted!  And new material arrives on my screen nearly every day!  So, to borrow from American Revolutionary War Hero John Paul Jones, "I have not yet begun to fight!"

;)

So stay tuned, folks.... the Best is yet to come!

And thank you.
